About Your Mediator

Judith H. Donohue

specializing in family and elder mediation

Judith Higgins Donohue

Judith Donohue has spent more than 30 years helping individuals and large corporations present their viewpoints and manage their communication in order to foster mutual understanding and support.  She brings those same professional skills to her work as a mediator, helping families communicate and make

decisions about the difficult issues that sometimes separate them.

She specializes in two areas: elderly mediation and divorce mediation when there are no child custody issues.

As a mother of five and grandmother of 11, she is acutely aware of the issues that can divide families. Sometimes these issues are complex and painful to resolve. Spending precious time and money in litigation is a painful and costly process that truly has no winners. Mediation is often a good option to help families make decisions that benefit everyone.

It can be a painless path to resolution --not only financially, but also for the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of those involved.

Judith earned a B.A. in Sociology and a Master's degree in Organizational Communication from Regis College. She has been certified as a family mediator by the Florida Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) and the Florida Supreme Court. She has specialized training as an elder mediator. She has mediated cases in Sumter, Lake, and Citrus Counties. Additionally, she teaches graduate level courses at University of Florida in Gainesville.

She is a member of the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators and the Florida Council on Aging. Through active membership in these organizations, she is continually improving her skills and expanding

her knowledge base, so that she can offer clients the best mediation experience possible.
